Welcome to Keep Your Running Shoes On Weekly Shoe Gram!

20 years of experience

There’s one we’ve all heard a bazillion times. You hear it from job candidates and in advertising campaigns on radio, TV and in newspaper and magazines.

You may have claimed 20 years of experience yourself, in your business or in your life. Do you really have 20 years of experience? Or, do you have one year of experience that you’ve done 20 times for 20 years? That could be as exciting as watching paint dry.

What have you done different that makes you stand out? What differentiates you from everyone else? And that is regardless if you are a job applicant or a really whiz-bang left handed widget company.

Here is your swift kick in the butt challenge: Examine your history and look at your potential. Identify areas where you are growing and where there is value to be added every single year. What is a real reason a customer should do business with your company? And be very specific.

In your Running Shoe Monday Meeting, count your collective experience and ask what that is really worth. Ask your team to bring differentiating points of value that will make you stand out from the crowd. Let’s look for meaningful points that make 20 years of experience really worth something.
